BOOM!
BOOM! is a unique filmmaking project involving some very special partners. Apple, MTV, Clubs for Young People and v. have all collaborated to offer youth groups one of the greatest media opportunities in recent times. Get the opportunity to make a film or video about your opinions, your concerns, your life, and even go in the running to have your film broadcast across the nation on MTV. BOOM! offers training in all aspects of film production and media skills and gives you the very latest cameras and editing equipment to get you going.
The BOOM! tour has been on the road across the UK for two years now and the next stop is 2morro 2009. 1,000 young people from various youth groups around the country have already been trained and equipped with their iMacs and cameras - next it could be you and your group. Once part of the BOOM! community you will be able to post your videos direct onto MTV's website, possibly have it shown on MTV1 and even win a BOOM! Award. With the free training, free kit and freedom to cover any subject you like (within the limits of taste and decency!) is there any wonder that demand for the project is already sky high?!
Get in there early for a chance to attend the BOOM! workshop at 2morro 2009. Email Becky Hedgcock with the Subject "BOOM! at 2morro 2009" for your opportunity to be part of the BOOM! revolution!
Any young person aged 16-24 may sign up for the one day BOOM! filmmaking course, but to qualify for a free camera and iMac you must apply with a voluntary youth organisation / youth club. For more details check out the BOOM! page on the Clubs for Young People website.
